Basic Training is a day rental program that challenges participants to overcome adversity through physical obstacles, outdoor leadership and team-building activities.
Rental includes facilitation of individual obstacle course, team obstacle course, and confidence climb. Down Range additionally offers a 1-mile challenge trail hike, kayaking on Kickapoo Lake, and Fishing the Governor’s Pond. These options are interchangeable and are case specific and dependent on available time. Rentals are available to groups with participants ages 12 and up to ensure an appropriate challenge.
The heart of Down Range, the Manhood Academy offers a small group setting for boys, teens and men to come together as a team and be mentally and physically challenged. Participants will learn to push themselves and their teammates to the limits. These challenges intentionally serve a much higher purpose than just physical tests. They exist to create an opportunity to teach wisdom and truth that is applicable to one’s daily challenges and within one’s spiritual journey.
Down Range has three sites for groups to play and several scenario options from which they can choose. There is a maximum of 32 participants per session. Down Range staff will also provide safety training and demonstrations, as well as facilitate tactical training and education for teams before they lock and load. We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit aimed to better our community and serve the next generation. Our 2016 goal is to facilitate one free camp per month to give access to groups that would otherwise not be able to attend camp at Down Range. If you have a group in mind that would benefit from our service, please contact us.
